This is a simple trick that every homeowner needs to know. Not only will this take you less than a minute to do, but it could save you hundreds in appliance repairs. Think of this necessary just like using Drano for your sink. Here's how to clean your washer...
For Front Load Washers:
A cup of distilled vinegar (you can use other products, but this will do the trick) once a month on a short cycle will help keep mold from building up, will help to keep the drain lines clear and also help to cut down on soap residue. Also wipe the door boot down with distilled vinegar as well when you are cleaning your machine.
For Top Load Washers:
Same thing as Front Loaders except the door boot because well...they don't have one!
