Do you know what to expect when you have a Repair Technician coming to your home? I get asked this question a lot, ' What should I expect when they arrive?" Well let me help put your mind to ease a little bit and help make the experience of a broken appliance a little less stressful for you.
When you call in for service having as much information as possible if always helpful to the technicians. This includes a description of what the problem is with the appliance and how long it had been occurring as well as the model number for the appliance. If parts need to be ordered for your appliance the model number is what allows that to happen. Also let the person taking your call know if your washing machine is a top loader or a front loader, if your range is gas or electric, if your refrigerator is a side by side, top mount, bottom mount or a French door.......all these little things are helpful to the technicians.
When you technician arrives they will introduce themselves, " Hello my name is Whirlpool from XYZ Appliances and I am here to repair your dryer." They should wipe their feet before they enter your home. Some technicians have shoe covers available to them ,if you ask them to use them they will comply.
If you are having a laundry appliance repaired please make sure the area that the technician will need to be in is clear of clutter to allow them to move around and properly diagnose the machine. If they are unable to get to all side of the machine they will not be able to fully diagnose the problem.
If you are having your refrigerator repaired please make sure there is a clear space inside so the technician can diagnose properly. If your refrigerator is full of food and the tech needs to get to the back of the unit from the inside this will be difficult to do so.
If you are having your dishwasher repaired please remove all dishes from the unit to allow a clear area for the techs to diagnose.
Your technician will spend time diagnosing the problem(s) and tell you what parts will be needed to repair the unit. The technician will go over prices with you to include materials costs, taxes and labor charges.
