Have you ever really thought about where your hot water comes from for that nice relaxing hot bath? When you take a nice soothing hot shower have you ever thought gosh it sure does take a long time to get hot? Well here is a little info about Hot Water Heaters for you.
There are four common types of water heaters (residential):
Storage Water Heaters
Tankless On-Demand Water Heaters
Point-Of-Use Water Heaters
Solar Water Heaters
Storage Water Heaters: The most common in homes, they are the large white tanks that heat the water using natural gas, electricity, propane, etc. These tanks heat and hold the water until it is needed at a faucet, fixture or appliance.
Tankless Water Heaters: These are becoming popular but are relatively new. They save energy by heating water only when it is required.
Point-Of-Use-Water Heaters: These are also called Instant Hot Water Dispensers. These are not intended for supplying hot water to an entire house but used in a single area, such as a kitchen or a bathroom.
Solar Water Heaters: These are used to supplement whole house water heating by combining a tank style storage water heater with a collector that uses the heat from the sun to heat the water.
